The construction of Eastwood Towne Center has brought millions of dollars worth of development and tax revenues to the metro area, and has reshaped the regional economic landscape. It has, and will continue to, generate strong development pressures in the DDA district and throughout the northeastern rim of the metro area.

Recognizing that the potential of East Towne Village to become a sustainable community would not be achieved through zoning alone, the DDA undertook this planning process to develop a vision for redevelopment of the DDA district as a whole.

The goal of this plan is to provide the DDA with a redevelopment vision and implementation strategies that will build a complete community by knitting other public and private development into and around Eastwood. This complete community will be a memorable and distinctive place, and will help ensure Eastwood’s longterm viability with the volatile commercial real estate sector.
